My Summer Workout Arsenal!
Posted By Yanique On Tuesday, July 27th 2010 In Mind, Body & Soul, Style it You Tags: Apple, Champion, Exercisetv, Handhelds, IPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, Nike, Payless, Physical fitness, SmartphonesI’ve always been into fitness. I describe myself as a glam tomboy. As a kid I would dress up in my pretty dresses with my patent leather shoes and then go climb a tree. It didn’t make my mom happy. This year I fell off my routine because of various reasons and I made a decision to jumpstart my workout regime no matter what! Over a month ago I purchased these cute Champion Stride Fitness fit flops at Payless on my way to work.
I had been taking daily walks, but thought these could give me the extra challenge I was looking for. Ladies if you don’t own a pair, get one! These little puppies had me sweating and my legs burning. I felt it in my legs, calves, glutes, and it helped to increase my heartrate as well. In addition to using these for walking, I was in search of a pair of sneakers for my other fitness activities. If you haven’t already met, let me introduce you to the Nike Air Max Trainer One.
I love this shoe! Not only is it super cute, but it has this great technology built in that helps you to get the most out of your workout. According to Nike,
“The Nike Trainer One is not magical toning shoe. It’s DiamondFLX technology activates your muscles to work how they’re supposed to giving you faster results from all those squats, lunges, and classes that you do. So you get fit faster.”
With that said, if you do the work, you will see the results. And remember monitoring your diet goes hand in hand with working out to achieve the best possible results. I don’t belong to a gym. I workout at home or go outdoors. You can also use the Nike Training Widget on your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch. My personal favorite are to use the videos on ExerciseTv which can also be downloaded onto your iPhone or iPod.
So ladies, there you have it. No more excuses. You don’t need a gym membership to gain the results you crave. Build up your personal arsenal to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle. Consider asking your friends, family, or coworkers to form a group as a support system. Sound off! What have you done this summer to jumpstart your personal fitness goals?

Style it Cheap: Day to Night for Under $25!
Posted By Yanique On Monday, July 26th 2010 In Style it Cheap, Style it You Tags: Amiclubwear, Arden B., Facebook, Forever 21, French Riviera, Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, New York City, TwitterThe other day while browsing the Arden B website I came across an amazing deal that was too good to pass up. This super cute belted floral frock was marked down from $59 to are you ready for this? Five bucks!!!! Yes ladies you read it right from $59 down to $5 so you know I had to grab it! After purchasing I tweeted my great find on Twitter and within minutes the dress was G-O-N-E along with some other dresses that they had marked down to five bucks. Coincidence? Maybe, but I don’t think so. I’m just happy that I was sensible enough to buy before tweeting. Fashion tip to all: buy then tweet!
After purchasing I was on this “I’m so happy to have found this great find” high. So much so that I gave myself a challenge to style this dress for under $25 on Facebook.
I mean I did just find this adorable dress marked down to almost free so why not keep the ball rolling. With a French Riviera wedding coming up next year my funds are on serious lockdown and my spur of the moment sprees have come to a screeching halt. Trust me it also doesn’t help having a FH breathing down my neck about the perils of my shopping habit, but I love him anyway. I came up with a day and night look both of which came well under $25 with change leftover for a iced latte.
I love the nude pumps because they are very similar to the killer heels Mila Kunis was rocking on the film set of Friends with Benefits in NYC.
Are my Amiclubwear designer? Hell no, but I damn sure don’t make Mila money and I don’t have designers sending me free stuff even though it would be more than welcome! Here is the breakdown:
Day:
1. Forever21 Double T-Strap Sandal $7.50
2. Forever21 Floral Cutout Sachel $15.80
Grand Total: $23.30
Evening
1. Amiclubwear Sand Velvet Round Toe Pump $15.99
2. Forever21 Cracked Oval Stone Ring $4.80
3. Forever21 Simplicity Polished Hoops $1.80
Grand Total: $22.59
What do you think? Does this prove that you can still look delish even though your wallet is feeling less than delish? Sound off!
